One of Mother Nature’s many insights is that the more we expand, the deeper our roots need to grow. You are invited to join us for a 6 night retreat in Grenada at True Blue Bay Boutique Resort for an intimate and unique opportunity to deepen your core connections with yourself and community. Being in healing community is vital to our self-care. Thus, the Root to Rise experience is like a one big beautiful sister circle of care, intention, purpose, vision and communion.

Jackie Bailey, founder of BEE You! Personal Development Ltd is a UK-based Transformation & Empowerment Coach. Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe, Professional Yoga Therapist, Doula and Artist is cofounder of Spice Harmony Yoga in Grenada. Together we’ve curated a rich program of personal development, yoga therapy, self care, creative workshops (using natural materials with local facilitators), a Rasta roots-to-bar (chocolate) tour, sunset cruise and other activities. Plus lots of time for rest and integration!

True Blue Bay Boutique Resort is a family-owned and operated, climate-smart resort. It offers a Caribbean-chic ambience and a colourful and relaxed tropical atmosphere. Enjoy the beauty of Grenada in the guilt-free luxury of an environmentally-conscious boutique resort dedicated to sustainability and regenerative practices. The resort is reminiscent of a charming Caribbean village with brightly-colored buildings of different heights, tucked among winding walkways with plenty of trees, birds and fragrant vegetation, spacious rooms with verandas framing views of the bay and gardens.

Jackie Bailey

Jackie Bailey is the Managing Director of her heart centred, purpose led & soul aligned coaching company BEE You! Personal Development Ltd. BEE You! delivers values based, transformational coaching, workshops, seminars & retreats grounded in living life intentionally, aligned to your values & soul purpose, on purpose & with purpose. A holistic approach to coaching, centred in living & BEEing authentic in all aspects of your life.

Jackie has coached a diverse range of clients, including individuals, networks, teams & leaders in the public sector, VCSE organisations, private business & private individuals. She is a member of the Association for Coaching. Jackie coordinates & hosts a range of retreats (in-person and online), including retreats for all women, black women, staff wellbeing & for marginalised young people; the latter most recently funded via Bangor University, Wales. Jackie has coached a range of diverse staff networks. She also facilitates group coaching sessions including; Positive Communication for Life; Reflect& BEE You! & Take Action to Manifest your Vision.

Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe

Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe is a professional yoga therapist (1000hr), pregnancy, labour & postpartum doula and new mama. She has over a decade of experience teaching yoga and was recently recognized internationally as one of 20 Yoga Teachers of Color to Watch in 2020. In 2011 she co-founded Spice Harmony Yoga in Grenada alongside her parents, who are also certified yoga teachers. Through years of offering prenatal yoga at her studio she realized that there are a lack of resources for expecting mothers and their loved ones. Malaika began her path to becoming a doula in 2016 with an intensive led by International Center for Traditional Childbearing . In 2018 she began her latest doula training with Mama Glow.

Malaika holds a Bachelors in Studio Art from Smith College, Massachusetts and a Masters in Cultural Studies from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Her photography, film and mixed-media artwork has been exhibited locally and internationally. She is also an official photographer for the Black Yoga Teachers Alliance Conferences. Through the interconnected facets of her work Malaika, seeks to create pathways for her clients and community to feel supported and foster deeper connections with themselves and one another.

Guest Facilitators

Stacey Byer is a published children’s book illustrator and creative consultant from Grenada. Growing up on a volcanic island filled with folktales and adventure actively fed her imagination. She uses her skills to promote art education and literacy and has worked with different organizations such as Room to Read, UNDP and Harper Collins UK.

Sheba Augustine is the founder and owner of OMI, an all natural sustainable skincare brand. She creates skin-nourishing formulas using exclusively natural and organic ingredients- many of which are locally grown on her tropical home island of Grenada. Her brand has been featured in Harper Bazaar’s ‘30 black-owned beauty brands to invest in’.

Are flights included?
No flights are not included but reach out if you have questions.

Will there be 1-on-1 support available during the retreat?
There will be a limited amount of 1-on-1 sessions available to book with Malaika and Jackie if you want to take a deeper personal dive into your healing process.

Why aren’t all meals included?
We want to create the opportunity for you to explore Grenada outside of the Resort. Our baseline rate, which includes the welcome dinner, lunch on our island tour and breakfast everyday. This allows you the freedom to purchase additional meals at the resort or local restaurants within your budget.

Is there an all inclusive option?

Yes! Add $90US per day, for all inclusive food & drinks at True Blue Bay Resort.

Do I have to come with someone to book a double occupancy spot?
No, you can share with another solo traveller guest if you wish.

Will there be downtime on the retreat?
Absolutely! There’s lots of time to relax by the pool, take the shuttle to the famous Grand Anse beach or check out local restaurants.

Are yoga mats and props provided?
Yes yoga mats and props are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

Do I have to pay everything up front?
We require a $400US deposit on booking and the remaining balance by 6 weeks (12th March 2023) before the retreat. Alternatively reach out to set up a payment plan.

What is your cancellation policy?
All $400US deposits are non-refundable. Should you need to cancel up to 3 months before the retreat begins (24th January 2023) , you’ll receive a full refund minus your deposit. No refunds are provided within three months of the retreat start date, as spaces can be challenging to re-fill. Read full Terms & Conditions for more details.
