New Moon is a time for setting intentions, and charging our intentions with Power. The New Moon Healing Retreat offers a space to reset, restore and renew our Sacred Beings. Join us in intimate CommUnity to bring our intentions to life.
As you prepare for this journey with us, ask yourself...What life am I afraid to give birth to? If not now, when?What am I willing to untangle to attune to my truth? Where do I need support?
We are offering this space to press pause as we take time to just Be and explore what may feel like a sense of stuckness in some part of our being. We often find ourselves so stimulated with little room to quiet down and honor who we are. When we give ourselves the opportunity to find stillness, we become more clear about our intentions, our purpose, giving us a chance to reset.
As we come together in CommUnity, there will be equal opportunities to have quiet rest and reflection individually, as well as communal discussions and activities to share who we are with one another in support. The following Tuesday evening we will be hosting another ceremony on the day of the New Moon for those who are still on the Island. We are so blessed to share in this space with you. Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe, RYT-200
The past six years as a yoga teacher have expanded my vision for what is possible. My intention as I teach is to build supportive, safe spaces for fellow students of life, to explore their own possibilities. Social justice is at the heart of my work, I believe firmly that individual transformation and healing is deeply connected to collective growth. My teaching draws on vinyasa, hatha, and restorative styles. In 2009 I earned my 200-hr yoga teaching certification through Yoga to the People in New York City, learning from instructors such as Sam Chase and German Bravo. I've also trained with Iyengar teacher Bryan Legere in Ventura, California on the Great Yoga Wall®. My parents are Purna and Kripalu yoga teachers respectively, and together we co-founded Spice Harmony Yoga Studio in Grenada. Everyone comes to the mat with a unique set of life experiences, in a unique body. My work is as a facilitator, a guide as each student unlocks their own set of tools and steps into the fullness of their being.
Katie Randall, MSYT, RYT-500
I've spent many years trying to understand the nature of who I am, and what my Dharma is in this lifetime. I started practicing yoga in 2002 as a physical practice, noticing that the benefits of it made feel more clear, grounded and better able to show up to life's challenges from a place of responsiveness versus reactivity. I spent 10-years working as a counselor, teacher and therapist for children living with special needs and disadvantaged youth before diving into the Yoga world. In 2010 I received my 230-hr yoga teaching certification through The Yoga Center of Minneapolis. I've trained in Teen Yoga through Karma Kids, Trauma Sensitive Yoga with Dave Emerson and most recently received a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy, along with my 500-hr RYT at Maryland University of Integrative Health. My teaching mostly comes from spirit and source that is far more powerful than what my mind or ego has ever guided me to do. Through the mind, body, breath and spirit, I help remind others what they already have, and hold space for them to remember who they are.
